The event, held at the University of London, Russell Square on 22nd January was formally opened by Sir Graeme Davies Vice Chancellor and President of London University who thanked those involved in making the event possible. The Vietnam-UK Network providing invaluable support.
Minister of Education and Training, HE Mr Phung Xuan Nha gave the opening speech praising the high quality of British education referencing the 12,000 students currently studying degrees in British Universities. UK educational organisations are welcome and encouraged in Vietnam where many opportunities await. Special Envoy, Ed Vaizey talked of his incredible impressions of Vietnam people after visiting several Vietnam universities in October 2018. He encouraged UK educational businesses to explore the market place.
Paul Smith Vice Chairman, Vietnam-UK Network talked of the value delivered to business and organisations from both countries, particularly in an education environment, and invited those interested to become members.
Mr Pham Quang Hung, Director of International Cooperation Introduced the latest legislation that gives education establishment more autonomy in the decisions on partnerships and foreign investment. A panel answered questions from the floor in a lively session before moving to direct discussions between the leaders of Universities from both countries.
