The launch of the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group for Vietnam (APPG) marks a significant step in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the UK and Vietnam. Established to foster dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding, the APPG will serve as a key platform for promoting trade, education, cultural exchange, and diplomatic ties. Comprising cross-party Members of Parliament and peers, chaired by Sir Mark Hendrick, the group aims to enhance awareness of Vietnam’s economic and strategic importance, as well as identify opportunities for collaboration across sectors such as trade, technology, sustainable development and climate change.
The APPG for Vietnam underscores the growing significance of the UK-Vietnam strategic partnership, particularly following the UK’s engagement in the Indo-Pacific region and Vietnam’s dynamic economic growth. This parliamentary initiative will facilitate ongoing dialogue with stakeholders, including Vietnamese policymakers, businesses, and the diaspora, to deepen cooperation and mutual prosperity.
Congratulations to H.E. Amb Đỗ Minh Hùng and his team for a successful launch event, attended by Sir Mark Hendrick, Catherine West MP, Mark Garnier MP, Lord Vaux, Lord Stansgate, other members of the APPGV, other dignitaries and close friends of Vietnam.
