VUKN’s Mission 2025 Takes Off in Style…
The Vietnam UK Network’s Mission 2025 kicked off in true style this week with an excellent meeting and welcome dinner in Hanoi organised by our dear friends at the Vietnam UK Friendship Association (VUFA) and partners from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO).
Mark Kent CMG, Matt Jackson and James Kenny had the honour of meeting the VUFA / VUFO delegation to discuss bilateral relations before attending a tremendous welcome dinner, which featured many old friends of the Network.
Nguyen Van Phuc of VUFA was a most gracious host alongside distinguished colleagues such as Nyguen Thi Thun Giang and Tran Duc Hieu of VUFO, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-UK Parliamentary Friendship Group, Pham Phu Binh, Dr Pham Trong Nghia, Vuong Thua Phong, the former Vietnam Ambassador to the UK, and many others, not least the UK Ambassador to Vietnam, Iain Frew, and his deputy, Marcus Winsley.
Vietnam’s amazing hospitality was on full display as the VUKN Chair, Mark Kent, thanked VUFA and all the friends of the Network for their amazing support in forging closer ties between the two nations.
The VUKN 2025 Mission is timed to coincide with a year of significant milestones for the country, most notably being 50 years since the reunification of Vietnam and 15 years since the UK and Vietnam signed a Strategic Partnership to forge closer relations between the two nations.
