Talking Politics…
An amazing visit to the Ho Chi Minh Political Academy in Hanoi courtesy of the team there. Special thanks to the Vice Director, Associate Professor Dr Duong Trung Y, for his warm welcome and discussion of the latest political initiatives in Vietnam with Mark Kent CMG, leading the Vietnam UK Network’s 2025 Mission.
Along with esteemed colleagues such as Associate Professor Dr Hoang Van Nghia, Mark, Matt Jackson and James Kenny had time to discuss the Network and the vital work of the Academy, areas of future collaboration between Vietnam and the UK, and hear about some of the latest political developments in Vietnam at a pivotal time for the country, including the four new pillars for progress laid out by the government.
Mark presented the Vice Director with a token of the Network’s appreciation. Then, along with representatives from the Academy and UK Embassy in Hanoi such as Marcus Winsley, the VUKNMission2025 team were then given a fascinating tour of the Academy and heard about the fascinating history of building.
The Ho Chi Minh Political Academy plays a key role in the social and economic development of Vietnam at home and abroad and hopefully we will see further engagement with the Academy later in the year in the UK.
