On 8 February 2026, the Vietnam – UK Network was pleased to attend the Annual General Meeting, AI Workshop and Lunar New Year Celebration organised by the Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the UK and Ireland (VIS) in Cambridge.
The morning programme took place at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and brought together representatives from the Embassy of Vietnam in London, Vietnamese organisations across the UK and Ireland, academic partners, and members of the wider community. It was a pleasure to join Ambassador Do Minh Hung and other distinguished guests in supporting VIS’s continued efforts to strengthen professional and academic connections between Vietnam and the UK.
The AGM reviewed VIS’s achievements over the past year and set out plans for 2026, followed by constructive discussion among members. The AI workshop, organised in collaboration with the Frugal AI Hub at Cambridge Judge Business School, offered thoughtful insights into the development of artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on sustainable, context-aware and resource-efficient approaches. The discussions highlighted the importance of responsible innovation and international collaboration, including perspectives relevant to Vietnam and emerging economies.
In the afternoon, participants gathered at Westminster College for a warm and joyful Lunar New Year celebration. The event provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect, strengthen friendships, and welcome the new year together in a spirit of community.
The Vietnam – UK Network thanks VIS for the kind invitation and congratulates the organising team on a successful and meaningful day. We look forward to continued engagement and collaboration in the months ahead.
